The 1987 Donruss Opening Day Ken Griffey #42 is a Baseball card released in 1987. Ungraded copies carry a market value of about $2.99.
An ungraded copy is worth around $2.99, a PSA 10 (Gem Mint) around $36.96 and a pristine BGS 10 around $48.00. That's roughly a 12× premium for a gem-mint copy over raw — one of the clearest signals that condition-sensitive buyers dominate this card's market.
Is it worth grading?
The spread between raw ($2.99) and top-graded ($36.96) copies is fairly tight, so grading this card only makes financial sense for truly flawless copies — or for collectors who simply prefer slabbed cards for protection and display.
