Affiliate disclosure

Ripbin is free and carries no ads. It is paid for by affiliate commission from eBay. This page says exactly how that works, because a site that publishes prices and also earns money when you buy owes you a straight answer about where the money comes from.

The disclosure, in one paragraph

Ripbin participates in the eBay Partner Network, an affiliate advertising programme. When you click an eBay link on this site and then buy something, eBay pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is eBay's price whether you arrived through us or typed the address yourself. eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc. Ripbin is not eBay and is not endorsed by eBay.

Which links are affiliate links

Every link that sends you to eBay. There are two kinds and both are paid:

  • The live listings carousel on card, set, player and article pages, showing what is currently for sale.
  • The buy links beside the price ladder, which take you to listings for that specific grade, and the “view live listings” button on a card page.

Links to anywhere else on Ripbin — other card pages, guides, the scanner, your locker — are ordinary internal links and earn nothing.

How the links are built

  • They go direct. An affiliate link on Ripbin points straight at ebay.com with the tracking parameters in the URL. It does not pass through a redirect on our own domain first, so you can read the destination before you click it and nothing sits in the middle.
  • They are tagged for machines too. Every one carries rel="sponsored nofollow", which tells search engines the link is paid. That is the same statement this page makes to you, made in the markup.
  • The campaign is identifiable. Our eBay Partner Network campaign ID is 5339155959, and it is visible in the URL of every affiliate link. Nothing about the relationship is hidden.
  • No cloaking, no injection. We do not disguise affiliate links as plain ones, we do not rewrite links inside anyone else's shopping session, and we never override another affiliate's attribution.

What commission does not affect

No price on Ripbin is influenced by affiliate revenue, and no card gets a page because it pays better.

  • Prices. Values are written by automated jobs reading market data. Those jobs know nothing about commission rates and there is no step anywhere that adjusts a number for commercial reasons. The full pipeline is described in the pricing methodology.
  • What you pay. Affiliate links do not change eBay's prices. Commission is paid by eBay out of its own fee, not added to your total.
  • Which cards exist here. The catalogue is driven by card data and by what people search for, not by payout.
  • The investing picks. Nobody can pay to be in a monthly report. How those are chosen is in the editorial policy.
  • Traffic. We do not buy, incentivise or automate clicks on affiliate links, and we do not click our own.

Partner data

Being an affiliate does not give us the right to republish a partner's private transaction data, and we do not. Where an agreement allows us to link but not to show numbers, you get a link. The prices you see on Ripbin come from our own sources, described in the methodology.

Programmes we are in

Today: the eBay Partner Network, and nothing else. If we join another programme, it gets added to this page and to the footer disclosure before the first paid link goes live, not after. If you ever find a link on Ripbin that earns us money and is not covered here, tell us on the contact page and we will fix it.

This disclosure is made under the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsement and material connections. It is repeated in the footer of every page.
